Hi! I’m Monica.
I wanted to be an inventor when I grew up. I don’t recall any of my specific inventions, but the sentiment was there– I wanted to dream up big ideas and bring them to life.
I’ve always been interested in art and design. I watched way more HGTV than your average elementary school kid. I subscribed to a dozen or so magazines and used them to collage my folders and decorate my room. I even had my birthday party at a Joann Fabrics one year. You get it.
I was editor-in-chief of my high school and college yearbooks, which taught me how to create a vision and execute it, the importance of a good serif font, and the consequences of missing a deadline– something I have not done since!
All of that led me to a career in (and love of) advertising and art direction.
I live in Chicago and love going to new restaurants/bars/coffee shops/breweries all over the city, but especially in my neighborhood, Logan Square.
I also love:
• crafting (duh)
• thrifting
• a long walk with a good podcast
• all things pop culture
• concerts at Salt Shed
• pretty much every documentary I’ve ever seen
I’m currently open to freelance and full time opportunities. Let’s chat!
